There was a lot of drama heading into “UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber II,” but perhaps the most intriguing storyline was that of former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz.
UFC president Dana White guaranteed Ortiz would be making his final appearance for the promotion if he was unable to end his five fight winless streak.
“Dude, it’s 2011. He’s got to win,” White told MMAFighting prior to the bout.
White did go on to say that Ortiz is usually at his best when his back’s against the wall, and “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” proved him right by stopping Ryan Bader.
It only took Ortiz 116 seconds to snap his horrid losing streak, which extended all the way back to 2006.
ESPN has once again been kind enough to put together a video highlight showcasing Ortiz’s monumental win.
