After sticking it to UFC president Dana White with their counter-programming efforts a couple of Sundays ago, Spike TV has once again joined forces with the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion to broadcast a pair of free preliminary bouts.
As expected, “UFC 133 Prelims” returns August 6th with a thrilling featherweight fight between Rani Yahya and Chad Mendes, as well as a light heavyweight affair with Alexander Gustafsson and Vladimir Matyushenko.
Spike’s live show starts at 8PM ET/5PM PT. The pay-per-view broadcast airs immediately after the freebie fights at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
No word if Facebook will come through with a live stream of the remaining preliminary bouts, but the last six Octagon shows have offered scraps on the popular social network.
UFC 133 takes place inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans headlines the card opposite Phil Davis.
