Following Monday’s bogus report on Strikeforce.com that Fedor Emelianenko was Octagon bound, the UFC’s little brother wanted to quickly reel fans back to reality by confirming the main card for “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.”

The eagerly anticipated show takes place July 30th inside the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Emelianenko will stand opposite current Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson in the night’s main attraction.

As expected, women’s welterweight queen Marloes Coenen puts her crown on the line against arch nemesis Miesha Tate in the card’s co-featured contest. Strikeforce’s return to Illinois will also showcase a critical middleweight scrap between Tim Kennedy and Robbie Lawler.

A thrilling welterweight affair between slugger Paul Daley and Tyron Woodley will also appear in the Showtime broadcast.

The final fight assured to air on television will be Scott Smith vs. Tarec Saffiedine. Some enthusiests held out hope that the lightweight battle with Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante and Lyle Beerbohm would have made the cut instead of the 170-pounders.

“Fedor versus Hendo is the super fight fans have been waiting for and we’re proud to have also stacked the rest of this card with exciting fights,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said. “Marloes has proven to be one of the best women’s mixed martial artists on the planet, but Miesha could be her toughest challenge yet.

“When you add knockout artists like Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith, as well as rising stars such as Tyron Woodley, Tim Kennedy and Tarec Saffiedine, this is the type of card that will deliver some explosive fights.”

Showtime will broadcast the main bouts at 10PM ET/PT. It’s unknown whether HDNet will once again televise all of the preliminary bouts live. The high definition network did so last month for “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum.”

Here are the athletes expected to appear in the star-studded extravaganza:

Preliminary Bouts:

Julie Kedzie vs. Alexis Davis

Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante vs. Lyle Beerbohm

Main Bouts:

Scott Smith vs. Tarec Saffiedine

Paul Daley vs. Tyron Woodley

Tim Kennedy vs. Robbie Lawler

Miesha Tate vs. Marloes Coenen (Women’s Welterweight Champion)

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson (Heavyweight Bout)
