A day after confirming the five featured fights for “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson,” the San Jose, California-based promotion announced three of the card’s preliminary bouts.
As expected, lightweight Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante will make a quick turnaround from last month’s ‘No Contest’ against Justin Wilcox to face Lyle Beerbohm. JZ caught Wilcox with an accidental eye poke in the 2ndRound of their 155-pound affair.
Eduardo Pamplona vs. Tyler Stinson and Julie Kedzie vs. Alexis Davis will also take place in the preliminary portion of the Showtime broadcast.
A heavyweight contest between Fedor Emelianenko and current Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Dan Henderson will headline the show.
Showtime will broadcast the main card beginning at 10PM ET/PT. It’s unknown whether HDNet will once again televise all of the preliminary bouts live. The high definition network did so last month for “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum.”
Here are the athletes scheduled to perform inside the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois:
