On Wednesday, Authentic Sports Management announced Danillo Villefort will make his highly anticipated return at “Strikeforce: Challengers 18” on August 12th.
Villefort owns a 13-3 record, but has rattled off wins in nine of his past ten fights. “Indio” was scheduled to make his Strikeforce debut in June, but had to pull out due to an injury.
“I’m excited to get back in the cage, my whole team is behind me and I am one hundred percent ready to go,” stated Villefort.
James owns a 12-7-1 professional record and has been polishing his skills at the famed American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California. Although the Brazilian knows he’s got a tough test ahead of him, he’ll be ready to perform when the curtain is drawn.
“I’m sure he’s going to be ready, but my job is to beat him down,” said Villefort. “With James, I’m going to make a statement to let all the 185-pounders know I’m here and that I’m going to take over the middleweight division, starting on August 12th.”
“Strikeforce: Challengers 18” takes place inside The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Showtime will broadcast the card’s main bouts.
UFC veteran Jorge Gurgel meets Joe Duarte in the night’s featured attraction.
