UFC Heavyweight Roy "Big Country" Nelson

Just hours after Mrs. Lyoto Machida professed her husband would not rematch Rashad Evans at UFC 133, Roy Nelson’s wife announced her hubby would be meeting Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic at “UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz.”

Jessica Nelson, who also doubles as Roy’s manager, confirmed the heavyweight affair with USAToday Wednesday afternoon.

Nelson posted a disappointing unanimous decision loss to Frank Mir at UFC 130 in his last outing. Immediately after collecting his second consecutive defeat, UFC president Dana White expressed great disgust in Nelson’s performance. Shortly after White’s harsh words, “Big Country” was admitted to the emergency room and diagnosed with walking pneumonia.

Speaking of two-fight skids, Cro Cop has been put to sleep in his last pair of Octagon forays. Mir extended him the favor at UFC 119, while Brendan Schaub collected his highlight reel moment in March at UFC 128.

Many expected CC to retire following the loss, but the Croatian sensation was adamant about marching on. White said he “owed Cro Cop another fight” and granted him one final go.

UFC 137 takes place October 29th inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pay-per-view broadcast features a welterweight title tilt between UFC king Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz.

Here are the athletes expected to appear in the show:

Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop

Roy Nelson vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic

Carlos Condit vs. BJ Penn

Nick Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre (UFC Welterweight Champion)
