UFC 102p

The middleweight bout between Ed Herman and Aaron Simpson is back on, however it will now be taking place at UFC 102 on August 29th inside the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

Herman and Simpson were originally slated to meet at “UFC Fight Night 19” on September 19th, however a flurry of injuries and switcheroos went down that put this scrap in limbo. In the end, everything worked out nicely for the two because after the dust settled, their bout was promoted to a pay-per-view card.

Herman, a member of Matt Lindland’s local Team Quest, took a unanimous decision over David Loiseau at UFC 97 in April. Herman was the runner-up on “The Ultimate Fighter 3,” however has had an up-and-down Octagon career posting just a 4-4 record in the UFC.

In his Octagon debut, Simpson needed less than two minutes to post a TKO win over Tim McKenzie at “UFC Fight Night 18.” He’s a two-time All-American wrestler, however has now posted knockout victories in all five of his professional bouts – four of which came in the 1stRound.

Here is the finalized roster for UFC 102:
