Roy Jones Jr. will be making his promotional debut at “Strikeforce Challengers 18.”
No, not that one…
Unlike the boxing legend, this RJJ is an up-and-coming light heavyweight that’s looking to make a name for himself in mixed martial arts. Jones Jr. meets Derrick Mehmen on August 12th in Las Vegas.
“My thoughts on Mehman … I think I’m just going to knock him out,” Jones Jr. flatly stated.
Jones holds a 5-1 professional record, with all of his victories coming via 1stRound finish. He currently trains at Imperial Athletics in Florida and with the infamous Blackzilians.
Mehmen holds an 11-3 mark and will also be making his debut for Strikeforce. Nine of his wins have come via some form of knockout.
“Strikeforce: Challengers 18” takes place inside The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC veteran Jorge Gurgel meets Joe Duarte in the night’s featured attraction.
