Late Wednesday afternoon, Octagon officials announced a pair of bouts for “UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Diaz.” A middleweight matchup between Brad Tavares (pictured) and Tim Credeur, as well as a featherweight scrap with Bart Palaszewski and Tyson Griffin were added to the October 29th show.
Tavares and Credeur are both looking to bounce back from losses in their last outings. The Hawaiian dropped a unanimous decision loss to Aaron Simpson at UFC 132, while Credeur was violently put down by Ed Herman at “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.”
After losing three consecutive 155-pound contests, Griffin collected a much-needed victory last month in his featherweight debut against Manvel Gamburyan.
Prior to his controversial split decision defeat to Kamal Shalorus at WEC 53, Palaszewski had rattled off three straight wins. He hasn’t been seen since the blue caged company permanently closed their doors last December.
UFC 137 takes place inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Georges St-Pierre puts his 170-pound crown on the line against former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz in the pay-per-view’s featured attraction.
