Less than 48 hours ago, a pivotal middleweight contest between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz was announced to headline UFC 138 in England. Fast forward roughly two days and the promotion has already added six other bouts to the card’s roster.
Thursday morning, a featherweight fight with Michihiro Okinawa and Jason Young was reported for the November 5th show. Considering both 145-pounders lost their last contests, it’s unlikely their bout will make it on the main card.
Okinawa dropped a highly controversial unanimous decision loss to Darren Elkins at UFC 131, which prompted UFC president Dana White to award Omigawa his win bonus despite the L.
Young suffered a unanimous decision defeat of his own to Dustin Poirier that same June evening. The loss wasn’t exactly how Young envisioned his Octagon debut going.
For North Americans, UFC 138 will be made available via same-day tape-delay on Spike TV (Rogers Sportsnet in Canada).
The LG Arena in Birmingham will host the UFC’s long-awaited return to England.
