As expected, Spike TV will make “UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz” available in the United States via same-day tape-delay at 8PM ET/PT. The show takes place November 5th inside the LG Arena in Birmingham, England and features a critical middleweight bout between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz.
The contest marks the UFC’s first five-round non-title affair.
Leben was last seen posting a 27-second highlight reel knockout of Wanderlei Silva at UFC 132. “The Crippler” has won four out of his last five bouts, with his lone blemish during the run coming in devastating fashion against Brian Stann.
“I’m really looking forward to this fight against Munoz and fighting in England again,” Leben stated. “They have some great fans there and the noise they make is loud. It is cool to make a little piece of history fighting in the first ever non-title five round fight, but I guarantee I won’t even need three rounds in this fight.”
Munoz has been quietly and efficiently moving his way up the middleweight totem pole. “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” has posted wins in six of his last seven outings and is currently enjoying a three-fight winning streak.
“Chris Leben is a great fighter. I’ve got a lot of respect for him. He’s got a powerful left hand and he comes forward the whole time,” Munoz shared. “I think it will go five rounds and I’ll control the entire fight. We’re both resilient so I think we’re going to throw bombs for five rounds.
“With a win over Chris I’m definitely going to be knocking at the door of title contention.”
