Although the middleweight scrap between Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann is the only bout that’s listed on UFC 136‘s official event page, the Gambling Gods know fully well the October 8th extravaganza will be headlined by a pair of championship affairs.
Frankie Edgar puts his lightweight strap on the line for the second consecutive time against Gray Maynard when they meet in the night’s featured attraction, while featherweight king Jose Aldo meets Kenny Florian in the card’s co-main event.
Edgar enters his trilogy against Maynard as a -150 favorite. Maynard, on the other hand, checks in as a +120 underdog.
Although it’s highly possible there will be some movement on their lines, those are the exact same odds the 155-pounders had in their rematch at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day.
Aldo is nearly a 3-to-1 favorite to retain his 145-pound crown, while Florian will enter the Octagon as a 2-to-1 long shot in his third attempt at winning a UFC belt.
UFC 136 takes place inside the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
