After a solid night of MMA action, UFC president Dana White awarded Vitor Belfort (Pictured), Brian Ebersole, Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans each an additional $70,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz.”
Because no fighters successfully showcased their jiu jitsu skills, a ‘Submission of the Night’ commission was not handed out. However, White gave Brian Ebersole an unexpected $70K for getting Dennis Hallman and his Speedo-like trunks “off TV as soon as possible.”
Belfort made quick work of Yoshihiro Akiyama in the card’s co-featured contest. The Brazilian used his superior speed to put Sexyama out cold and win the ‘Knockout of the Night’ award.
As expected, the card’s main attraction between Evans and Ortiz was the event’s most thrilling contest. Both light heavyweights left Philly with “Fight of the Night’ honors and an extra $70,000 each for their efforts.
“UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz” took place inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
