Just moments before Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz took center stage at UFC 133, reigning light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took to his Twitter and polled the MMA world on Saturday night’s main event. “Bones” even offered up his prediction for the pivotal shootout.
“Tito by KO or Rashad by Dec….? I got Rashad by dry hump,” Jones tweeted.
After watching his friend-turned-foe add “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” to his highlight reel collection, Jones gave both 205-pounders props for their ‘Fight of the Night‘ performances. However, he wasn’t so quick to specifically give his former training partner much love for his 2ndRound TKO victory.
“Nice fight, I’ll be ready :-). YYYEEEAA!!!! GET SOMMEEE!!” Jones stated.
Even though Jones hadn’t seen Evans compete inside the Octagon in nearly 15 months, he felt “Suga” didn’t showcase anything that he hadn’t seen from his former homie before, let alone anything extraordinary.
When asked by a fan what he thought of Evans’ performance, Jones flatly stated, “same stuff.”
Jones makes his first title defense when he meets Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135 on September 24th. Evans now gets next dibs, so expect him to be sitting front and center inside the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
