“Strikeforce Challengers 18” took place Friday night inside The Pearl at The Palms Casino Result in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lightweight scrap between former UFC fighter Jorge Gurgel and Joe Duarte headlined the Showtime broadcast.

After 15 minutes of thrilling action, Duarte managed to squeak out a unanimous decision victory over Gurgel.

Duarte collected his fifth consecutive victory and bumped his record up to 10-2, while Gurgel’s resume dropped to 14-8. He is now 1-2 under Strikeforce’s banner.
