Lost in Chris Lytle’s emotional retirement ceremony following his victory over Dan Hardy at “UFC on Versus 5” was the fact seven of the card’s 12 bouts resulted in upsets. Outside of Lytle’s submission win, the other three favorites that appeared in Versus’ televised broadcast all went down.

Jacob Volkman, Ronny Markes, Ed Herman, Jared Hamman, Duane Ludwig (Pictured), Donald Cerrone and Ben Henderson each served up an upset special Sunday night inside the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

For the past several weeks, Charles Oliveira remained a steady -145 odds-on favorite in his contest with Cerrone. Just hours before showtime, the “Cowboy” and Oliveira were both pegged at -115. So technically, that fight was a Pick ‘em by the time the cage door slammed shut, but still…

The largest long shot to come through last night was Ludwig. Amir Sadollah entered their welterweight affair as a 3.5-to-1 favorite.

For you curious gambleholics, middleweight king Anderson Silva is a whopping 4-to-1 favorite against Yushin Okami at UFC 134.
