On Monday afternoon, featherweight Manny Gamburyan announced a shoulder injury will force him out of his “UFC 135: Jones vs. Jackson” fight against Diego Nunes.
“I’m off from the UFC 135 card, I hurt my shoulder and MRI is not looking good,” Gamburyan tweeted. “I just wanna say sorry to all my friends and fans, I’ll be back!”
The Armenian was looking to rebound from back-to-back losses for the second time in his career. He was put down by featherweight champ Jose Aldo at WEC 51 in September, then followed it up with a majority decision loss to Tyson Griffin at “UFC Live 4: Kongo vs. Barry” this past June.
No word on who will replace “The Anvil” in the show.
UFC 135 takes place inside the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado and features a light heavyweight title bout between champ Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
