Most fans thought the UFC was far too busy preparing for Saturday’s UFC 134 pay-per-view extravaganza to be able to announce any new fights. Not true, as a light heavyweight scrap between Stephan Bonnar and Kyle Kingsbury was added to their “UFC 139: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos” roster on Tuesday afternoon.
Both 205-pounders are coming off decision wins. Bonnar posted his against Igor Pokrajac at “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” in December, while Kingsbury notched his over Fabio Maldonado at the “The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale” in June.
Fanboys were hoping Bonnar would get pitted against recent rival Josh Koscheck in a middleweight affair, but it appears the company opted against arranging the showdown. Kos is still expected to perform in the show, however an opponent has yet to be named.
UFC 139 takes place November 19th inside the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. A heavyweight title bout between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos will headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
Here is the card’s updated lineup:
Josh Koscheck vs. TBD

Zhang Tie Quan vs. Darren Elkins
Chris Weidman vs. Tom Lawlor
Stephan Bonnar vs. Kyle Kingsbury
Rick Story vs. Martin Kampmann
