Now that showtime is finally upon us, everyone and their mothers have provided their “expert” analysis on what will go down at UFC 134 between middleweight champ Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami. However, what would tonight’s main event be without Chael Sonnen dropping his two cents on the subject?
Sonnen not only has 14 years of mixed martial arts experience under his belt, but MMA’s most entertaining trash-talker has also faced both 185-pounders. Unfortunately for those hoping to hear some vintage Sonnen, the controversial wrestler provided his insight on ESPN’s SportsCenter so he was much more reserved than what hardcore fans have grown accustomed.
He posted a unanimous decision win over Okami at UFC 104 in October 2009 and was submitted by Silva at the 11th hour last August at UFC 117. Sonnen also helped Okami prepare for “The Spider” for tonight’s shootout in Brazil.
The HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro will host the middleweight title tilt. The pay-per-view broadcast airs live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
