Courtesy of Facebook and Spike TV, seven free “UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami” preliminary bouts are officially in the books.
The story of the prelims was the middleweight scrap between Rousimar Palhares (Pictured) and Dan Miller. After dropping Miller with a head kick and unloading countless bombs on his wounded opponent, Palhares felt he had done enough and decided to stop the fight HIMSELF.
The Brazilian even hopped on top of the cage to celebrate the premature victory with his countrymen. Unfortunately, referee Herb Dean NEVER stepped in to call the contest and the fight continued.
Once the 185-pound affair resumed, Miller floored Palhares with a right as the 1stRound ended. Palhares managed to hold on for a lopsided unanimous decision victory, but it was one of the oddest Octagon bouts ever. However, it was also the most exciting contest thus far so both are in contention for ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.
UFC 134 is jumping off inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The pay-per-view broadcast starts live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
