UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva

On Saturday night at UFC 134, middleweight king Anderson Silva (Pictured) solidified his spot as the baddest 185-pounder in bare feet. By beating Yushin Okami in front of his fellow Brazilians, Silva became the only man in company history to defend his title nine consecutive times.

It took “The Spider” all of seven minutes and four seconds to avenge his controversial 2006 disqualification loss to the Japanese star. After feeling Okami out for much of the opening round, the division’s most accurate assassin came out like a house on fire in the 2ndRound.

Silva was so confident in his standup attack that he even dropped his hands in an attempt to goad Okami into engaging in a shootout. After flooring Okami for the second time in the stanza, Silva followed his opponent to the canvas and proceeded to layeth the smacketh down.

Referee Herb Dean was forced to put an end to the beating at the 2:04 mark in the 2ndRound.

UFC 134 took place inside the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. It marked the Octagon’s first event on Brazilian soil since 1998, and the show certainly didn’t disappoint.
