Them Brazilians sure know a little something about brotherhood. Long before Anderson Silva became the country’s gift to mixed martial arts, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (Pictured) was Brazil’s most popular fighter.
Facing nearly a must-win situation in front of his countrymen, Big Nog violently put down the up-and-coming Brendan Schaub to prolong his illustrious career. However, everyone inside the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the pay-per-view purchasers at home all saw that.
What fans didn’t get to witness was the live madness that took place backstage in Team Nogueira’s locker room as Schaub was face planting into the canvas.
Just to give you an idea of what “Minotauro’s” win meant, middleweight king Anderson Silva appears to be in tears from his mentor’s performance. “The Spider” later took center stage and put on a masterful show of his own in the night’s featured attraction.
