First Round Management was putting in work Wednesday evening. Shortly after announcing they scored Carlos Condit a contract extension to remain with the UFC, the MMA management firm reported former WEC lightweight champ Ben Henderson has also re-upped with the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion.
As in Condit’s case, the terms of Henderson’s multi-fight deal were not disclosed.
“I am excited that I will have the opportunity to continue to compete in the UFC, and I want to thank the UFC for believing in me and my abilities,” Henderson stated.
Henderson owns an impressive 14-2 professional record and is perfect through his first two UFC fights. Bendo is coming off the most impressive performance of his career when he posted a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Jim Miller at “UFC on Versus 5.”
Henderson runs The MMA Lab in Glendale, Arizona. After dominating Miller earlier this month, the humble lightweight begged UFC management to give is teammates a shot at the big leagues instead of pushing to advance his own career.
