Mixed martial arts fans might be fully aware that the UFC will be making their primetime debut on November 12th, but the rest of the sports world likely doesn’t have a clue. That’s why FOX is hosting a massive star-studded shindig outside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California to ensure everyone is on alert.

“One thing we will be doing is launching the UFC on FOX with a Super Bowl-style red carpet and tailgate party with every star in Hollywood and every dignitary that we need to get out there to launch this thing,” FOX Sports media group COO Eric Shanks stated. “It will be a la Super Bowl tailgate and Super Bowl red carpet with a huge party outside before the event.”

The UFC’s premiere on FOX is only an hour-long live broadcast, but UFC president Dana White claims it will be a show everyone will want to see in person. Celebrity sightings are far from uncommon at Octagon events, but FOX’s ability to attract the who’s who of being famous will trump what fight fans have witnessed in the past.

“This is going to be an event of all events,” White said. “Just to be in Anaheim for this event, even if you can’t get a ticket to this event, just to be in Anaheim and watch it in a bar that night, you’re going to be able to feel the atmosphere and the buzz that’s going on down in Southern Cal.”

With a heavyweight title tilt between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos slated to headline the card, it appears The OC will be the place to be in mid-November. Tickets for UFC on FOX go on sale next week. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
