MMAJunkie.com is reporting that former “The Ultimate Fighter” contestant Alex Karalexis has an undisclosed injury and will not be able to fight against Anthony Pettis at WEC 43. With eleven bouts already on the card, it’s likely the organization might scrap the contest entirely and move another fight to the televised portion of the Versus broadcast.

WEC 43 is scheduled to take place on September 2nd inside the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.

After lightweight champ Jamie Varner was forced to pull out of his highly anticipated rematch with Donald Cerrone due to an injury, the organization signed Benson Henderson to meet the division’s top contender for the interim title in the night’s main event.

If Cerrone can defeat Henderson, it puts him right back in line to avenge his controversial loss to Varner from WEC 38 earlier this year.

Here’s how the updated WEC 43 card breaks down:

Preliminary Bouts:

Mark Hominick vs. Deividas Taurosevicius
Charlie Valencia vs. Coty Wheeler
Muhsin Corbbrey vs. Anthony Njokuani
Manny Tapia vs. Eddie Wineland
Wagnney Fabiano vs. Erik Koch
Scott Jorgensen vs. Rafael Rebello
Rafael Assuncao vs. Yves Jabouin

Main Bouts:

Damacio Page and Akitoshi Tamura
Dave Jansen vs. Richard Crunkilton Jr.
Donald Cerrone vs. Ben Henderson (Interim WEC Lightweight Title)
