According to veteran Jeff Monson, the heavyweight will headline M-1 Global’s November 12th show in Russia opposite Fedor Emelianenko (Pictured).
“Nov 12th vs Fedor in Russia M-1 confirmed,” Monson posted on his Twitter.
“The Snowman” holds an extensive 42-12 professional record, but was last seen dropping a convincing unanimous decision loss to Daniel Cormier at “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum.” Monson had won his previous eight contests prior to the June defeat.
Last month, UFC president Dana White cut ties with Emelianenko after he suffered a devastating loss to Dan Henderson. The vicious 1stRound TKO defeat marked the 34-year-old’s third consecutive L.
Emelianenko owns an unmatched 31-4 (1 NC) record. Prior to his last three forgettable outings, the sport’s most decorated heavyweight was riding a 27-fight winning streak which span for nearly a decade.
Very little is known about M-1 Global’s upcoming event, outside of the date and the show’s headliners. However, the company is expected to make an official announcement shortly.
