Strikeforce Champ Nick Diaz

Nick Diaz (Pictured) may have lost out on his main event spot at UFC 137 against welterweight king Georges St-Pierre, but the bright side for the controversial grappler is that he now faces better odds of leaving Las Vegas with a victory.

GSP was a significant 4-to-1 odds-on favorite against the former Strikeforce title holder. Since getting demoted to the card’s co-featured attraction against BJ Penn, Diaz is now an EVEN-money bet to beat the Hawaiian.

Penn is a slight -130 favorite to spoil Diaz’s long-awaited return to the big leagues.

UFC 137 takes place October 29th inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Nevada.

Here is the wagering line for Penn vs. Diaz (Courtesy of Bodog):

Penn -130
Nick Diaz EVEN

Gambling 101:

Bet $130 on Penn and he wins, you win $100
Bet $100 on Diaz and he wins, you win $100
