Due to an injury sufferred by Alex Karalexis, the WEC has decided to promote the featherweight fight between Rafael Assuncao and Yves Jabouin to the televised portion of their September 2nd WEC 43 event on Versus.

It was reported earlier this week that Karalexis had to pull out of his bout against Anthony Pettis due to an undisclosed injury. Instead of finding a replacement, the organization opted to move forward with the 11-bout roster they already have in place.

WEC 43 will be popping off inside the Covelli Center in Youngstown, Ohio, and will be headlined by an open-interim welterweight bout between top contender Donald Cerrone and Benson Henderson.

Here is the revised lineup for the night’s event:

Preliminary Bouts:

Mark Hominick vs. Deividas Taurosevicius
Charlie Valencia vs. Coty Wheeler
Muhsin Corbbrey vs. Anthony Njokuani
Manny Tapia vs. Eddie Wineland
Wagnney Fabiano vs. Erik Koch
Scott Jorgensen vs. Rafael Rebello

Main Bouts:

Rafael Assuncao vs. Yves Jabouin
Alex Karalexis vs. Anthony Pettis
Damacio Page and Akitoshi Tamura
Dave Jansen vs. Richard Crunkilton Jr.
Donald Cerrone vs. Ben Henderson (Interim WEC Lightweight Title)
