Just hours before “UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou” launches in New Orleans, the world’s premier MMA promotion announced a thrilling featherweight scrap between Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung (Pictured) and Mark Hominick for UFC 140. The Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada will host the Octagon’s anticipated return up north.
Jung owns a respectable 11-3 professional record. He rebounded nicely from a 1-3 skid by serving up one of the most thrilling submissions in company history when he caught Leonard Garcia in a rarely-seen twister this past March.
Hominick will be fighting in front of his fellow Canadians for the second consecutive time. He was last seen dropping a unanimous decision to 145-pound king Jose Aldo at UFC 129 in April. This contest will mark the first time Hominick will enter the cage since the passing of his longtime trainer and dear friend, Shawn Tompkins.
“The Coach” unexpectedly passed away last month in his sleep at the age of 37.
A heavyweight rematch between former champion Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is expected to headline the December 10th show.
Here is the card’s updated roster:
Rich Attonito vs. Claude Patrick
John Cholish vs. Mitch Clarke
Dennis Hallman and John Makdessi
Nik Lentz vs Mark Bocek
Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung vs. Mark Hominick
Brian Ebersole vs. Rory MacDonald
