“The Ultimate Fighter 8” lightweight runner-up Phillipe Nover has agreed to step-in for an injured Kyle Bradley to face Sam Stout at “UFC Fight Night 19” on September 19th.
Word broke yesterday regarding Bradley’s injury, and AOL FanHouse was the first to report on Nover’s next challenge today.
The Filipino is looking to rebound from disappointing back-to-back losses inside the Octagon. Efrain Escudero, the man that upset the former registered nurse to take the TUF 8 tourney, out-wrestled his way to an easy unanimous decision back in December of 2008. Nover was then embarrassed by the aforementioned Bradley at UFC 98 after it took Bradley all of 63 seconds to win via TKO.
Stout, on the other hand, is riding high from his unanimous decision win over Matt Wiman at UFC 97. It was a much needed victory as he had dropped three of his last five before collecting that W.
“UFC Fight Night 19” takes place inside the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Spike TV will broadcast all of the main bouts, which will be headlined by a lightweight match-up between Nate Diaz and Melvin Guillard.
Here is the most updated roster for the night’s show:
