After Jon Jones finished what looked to be a sparring session back at Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rashad Evans (Pictured) dropped his two cents on “Bones'” dominant performance at UFC 135.
“I thought Jon Jones looked impressive,” Evans said following Jones’ lopsided victory over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Jones went nearly untouched en route to retaining his UFC light heavyweight title. The champ forced Rampage to submit via rear-naked choke in the 4thRound in Saturday’s main event.
Immediately after the win, “Suga” jumped into the Octagon, cast on his right hand in tow, for a post-fight interview.
“I’m glad that the UFC put it together and I can’t wait to get the chance to fight him,” Evans told color commentator Joe Rogan.
Evans re-affirmed his next dibs status after taking out Tito Ortiz at UFC 133 last month in Philadelphia.
The former training partners have had a public spat stemming from Evans’ belief that Jones had broken the unspoken rule of fighting a teammate, something Evans was vehemently against before moving his camp to Imperial Athletics in Florida.
Jones was seen icing an injured left foot in the locker room after his first successful title defense. Evans is currently on the mend from an injured right haymaker.
No word on when the friends-turned-foes will throwdown.
