On Tuesday, Bellator Fighting Championships announced reigning middleweight champ Hector Lombard (Pictured) will meet Trevor Prangley in a 195-pound catchweight bout at “Bellator 58.” The November 19th event takes place inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Lombard has rattled off 23 consecutive wins and is considered to be one of the top 185-pounders not competing in the UFC. He is currently waiting to defend his throne against the winner of Bellator’s Middleweight Tournament, but feels Prangley should serve as a respectable filler fight.
“I just want November to get here and knock someone out,” Lombard stated. “I doesn’t matter who it is, I just want to do what I do and that’s win. I don’t know much about Trevor, but it doesn’t matter. I’ll be in front of my fans in Florida, and it’s going to be a show.”
While Lombard may not be too familiar with Prangley, the veteran does hold notable victories over Chael Sonnen, Matt Horwich and Keith Jardine. He was last seen getting knocked out by Tatsuya Mizuno at “Dream: Fight for Japan” in July.
“Both of us are going to get in that cage and throw bombs, no questions asked,” Prangley said. “It’s no secret both of us like to stand and bang, and that’s exactly what everyone is going to get. I know Hector is really tough on his feet, but so am I, so he’s going to have to play my game when the cage door shuts.”
MTV2 will broadcast the event at 9PM ET.
