While all MMA eyes are focused on Saturday’s “UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III” extravaganza, the injury bug snuck in the backdoor and stung Tim Credeur (Pictured). No word on what caused the middleweight to withdraw from his UFC 137 scrap against Brad Tavares, but it was reported Octagon rookie Dustin Jacoby has agreed to serve as a last-minute substitute.
Jacoby, hailing out of Springfield, Illinois, will be taking his unblemished 6-0 resume into the big leagues.
Tavares owns a 7-1 record and is looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Aaron Simpson at UFC 132.
Their 185-pound affair will not appear in the pay-per-view portion of the festivities.
A welterweight title bout between champion Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit will headline the October 29th show.
