All six “UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III” preliminary bouts are officially in the record books. Unfortunately for fight fans seeking spectacular finishes, every contest went to the judges’ scorecards.
The night’s most controversial scrap thus far came between former WEC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis (Pictured) and veteran Jeremy Stephens. Pettis managed to rally and collect his first win in the big leagues with a split decision victory over Stephens.
Hopefully the preliminary action wasn’t a sign of things to come, as the card showcases the UFC’s most talent-rich roster of 2011.
The Toyota Center in Houston, Texas is hosting the star-studded shindig.
The pay-per-view broadcast begins live at 9PMET/6PM PT.
Saturday’s show features a pair of title bouts. Gray Maynard will challenge lightweight champ Frankie Edgar for his crown in the night’s featured attraction, while Jose Aldo will defend his throne against Kenny Florian in the co-main event.
