With just about a week before game time, it looks like WEC 43 won’t be taking place next Wednesday inside the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio as expected. The organization has just announced the event will now be pushed back to October 10th, however no location has been determined at this point.
Word on the street is that main event fighter Benson Henderson recently sustained an injury and will be sidelined for a brief period of time. However, he will be back in time to take on Donald Cerrone for the WEC’s vacant interim lightweight title on the rescheduled card.
WEC officials stated that fans holding tickets for the original card can request a refund through their original point of purchase.
Strangely, October 10th is a Saturday, a move that contradicts the organization’s initial intentions of avoiding hosting weekend events during the up-coming five-month football season.
