Courtesy of an unexpected visit from the injury bug, the lineup for “UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz” has experienced a slight shakeup. The November 5th show takes place inside the LG Arena in Birmingham, England.
Heavyweight Oli Thompson has been forced to withdraw from his bout against Phil De Fries with an undisclosed injury. Rob Broughton, who fought last month at UFC 135, has agreed to play substitute.
Welterweight John Hathaway will have to pull out of his scrap, as well. His original opponent, Matt Brown, has verbally agreed to face Seth Baczynski instead. However, Brown vs. Baczynski will go down at UFC 139 on November 19th.
The card will be headlined by a pivotal middleweight shootout between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. The bantamweight fight with Brad Pickett and Renan Barao is currently slated as the night’s co-main event.
For North Americans, UFC 138 will be made available via same-day tape-delay on Spike TV beginning at 8PM ET/PT. Rogers Sportsnet will air the freebie fight card in Canada.
