It was just announced earlier today via DREAM’s official website that Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto has been signed to fight on the DREAM.5 card on July 21st. Yamamoto’s opponent is Joe Benavides who has only one professional fight on his record, which was a victory back in January.
“Kid” Yamamoto is one of the top Featherweight fighters in the world and that’s who current WEC Featherweight Champion, Urijah Faber, is always referring to when he mentions that he wants a fight against “Kid”.
Yamamoto has been inactive since December 31st, a victory over Jiu-Jitsu expert Rani Yahya. He suffered his last loss back on May 5th, 2002 and he’s looking to continue his winning ways.
A press conference announcing the fight and the event will be setup shortly and will feature both Yamamoto and DREAM producer Keiiti Sasahara.
