“UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz” may have marked the end of two legendary careers, as former Pride Open Weight Grand Prix champ Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and former multi-divisional title holder BJ Penn appear to have made their final Octagon appearances.
After a great night of fights, the card’s top winners joined UFC president Dana White at the post-fight press conference.
Although Nick Diaz (Pictured) showed up late to the festivities, the biggest announcement of all came when White told the media Carlos Condit had willingly stepped aside to allow Diaz to get next dibs at Georges St-Pierre’s welterweight crown.
According to White, he had never seen St-Pierre as upset as he was after Diaz put him on blast during his post-fight speech. White decided to grant both 170-pouders the fight they wanted – with Condit’s blessing of course.
The “now-retired” Penn and Cro Cop did not attend the presser.
