In August, former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar (Pictured) announced his return to mixed martial arts after undergoing a life-changing operation to cure his case of diverticulitis. Now that he’s back, Lesnar claims to be more determined than ever to reclaim his throne.

The 34-year-old makes his comeback at UFC 141 when he faces Alistair Overeem in a top contender matchup.

“I’m approaching this fight hungrier than I have ever been,” Lesnar said in an interview with Paul Heyman. “The things that I have accomplished, with the sickness that I had is very remarkable. I think now that I am a healthy Brock Lesnar again, it’s bad for a lot of people.”

After coaching on “The Ultimate Fighter 13,” Lesnar was scheduled to headline UFC 131 opposite Junior dos Santos this past June. Unfortunately for the former WWE superstar, his case of diverticulitis returned and he was forced to withdraw from the contest at the 11th hour.

Lesnar seems to have slimmed down quite a bit since getting mauled by Cain Velasquez for his title at UFC 121 in October of 2010, but that doesn’t appear to be due to portion control. He’s simply eating smarter.

“I have changed my training, I’m able to do more things now,” Lesnar expressed. “I’m a healthier person. I don’t have to eat like a rabbit or an anorexic. I can just be myself again.

“But a healthy Brock Lesnar, a Brock Lesnar that’s eating right now, and able to train like I used it, it feels out of this world to me.”

In regards to his impending opponent, who happens to be the former Strikeforce heavyweight king, Lesnar will just allow for his actions inside the Octagon to do the talking for him.

“I don’t have a lot to say to Alistair Overeem,” Lesnar stated. “Here’s a guy that is getting his chance to make his name in the UFC, and unfortunately for him, there’s a gatekeeper that stands in his way and that’s Brock Lesnar.

“I will prove on that night that I am once again, and will always be, the baddest dude on the planet.”

UFC 141 takes place December 30th inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
