UFC Heavyweight Junior dos Santos

Once again we’ve gathered the best MMA news from the baddest websites on the ‘net so that 5thRound nation won’t miss a beat! Make sure to check out the links after the jump.

“UFC on FOX” was obviously the talk of the week, but that wasn’t the only MMA news that hit the web.

Junior dos Santos knocked Cain Velasquez out to hand the Mexican-American fighter the first blemish on his resume.

Ben Henderson was also victorious over Clay Guida and earned himself a shot at UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in February.

Enough talk, onto this past week’s top news:

Exclusive Interview with Clay Guida [Lowkick]

“Ben is pretty much the same, great on the feet and solid on ground. I won’t go into detail, but I want to finish this fight.”

Exclusive Interview with Chael Sonnen [MMAMania]

“Coaching against Anderson would be a disservice to my team, because they would spend the entire time fighting against a team that would be as poorly trained and poorly prepared as their coach.”

UFC 1-75 Summed up in Tweets [TheFightNerd]

“MMA Journalist Jim Genia has seen it all in the world of MMA, having been there since practically the inception of the sport.”

Velasquez vs. Dos Santos greatest heavyweight title fight? [Fightline]

“Velasquez and dos Santos may both be young and still growing in the sport, but they are currently the two best heavyweights that MMA has ever seen.”

Updated on the Xyience bankruptcy case [MMAPayout]

“Some interesting movement in the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy case of sport drink manufacturer Xyience. Last week, Forbes reported that Fertitta Enterprises was sanctioned by the Bankruptcy Court in Nevada for failing to provide certain information previously requested by the Bankruptcy trustee.”

Dan Severn Still Wants Coleman and Shamrock, Will Likely Retire Next Year [CagePotato]

“I want specific fights right now. I’ve had some verbal offers but haven’t had the opportunity to bring some of these matches to life. Two particular matches I’m still interested are ones with Mark Coleman and Ken Shamrock.”

Why “UFC on FOX” was a utter disappointment [BleacherReport]

“Dana White and the Fox network should be disappointed with the way this fight turned out. In a battle between two heavyweights who seemed evenly matched, this had the potential to be the fight of the year.”

Dana White Brings Back Brittney Palmer [MMAConvert]

“Guess who’s back? I’d be a lot more excited if Dana White gave us the option to vote Natasha Wicks back, but that’s just me.”

Nick Diaz talks on Inside MMA [FightOpinion]

“It’s been embarrassing, you don’t always come off the way that you want to or look the way you want to.”

Nine Way of looking at “UFC on FOX” [MMAFighting]

“If you’re expecting to wake up to a brave new world of MMA awareness and appreciation on Sunday morning, don’t. Even if this event is as huge as White has repeatedly promised, the impact probably won’t be immediately apparent beyond the insulated walls of the MMA community.”

Dana White confirmed Chael Sonnen is next [Five Ounces of Pain]

“It looks like Chael Sonnen‘s mouth and the fan response to it has earned him another fight against the man on the receiving end of his many verbal jabs – Anderson Silva.”

Mauro Renallo’s “UFC on FOX” rap [MiddleEasy]

“I don’t know how he executed it with such great precision. It’s one of MMA’s greatest mysteries. However, as long as Ranallo will drop freestyles on the masses, we will be there to film it.”
