While the majority of MMA eyes were locked-in on Junior dos Santos’ thrilling knockout victory over Cain Velasquez at “UFC on FOX,” Douglas Lima decided to post some highlight-reel footage of his own at “Bellator 57.”
Lima violently put former UFC star Ben Saunders down in the finals of Bellator’s Welterweight Tournament. The 2ndRound TKO win not only earned the Brazilian a massive $100,000 paycheck (literally and figuratively), but also next dibs at 170-pound champ Ben Askren.
Saunders was perfect through his first three scraps with the promotion prior to colliding with Lima.
The Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada hosted Saturday night’s show.
