Five days after collecting his first big league victory, it was announced Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres (Pictured) will make a quick turnaround to face Edwin Figueroa at UFC 143 on Super Bowl Saturday.
After dropping his first two Octagon scraps, “Bruce Leeroy” moved to the bantamweight division and unleashed the most impressive performance of his career this past weekend at “UFC on FOX.” It was likely the dynamic striker would have been released from the organization had he not pulled off the unanimous decision win.
Figueroa rebounded nicely from losing his first fight under the UFC’s banner by posting a TKO victory over Jason Reinhardt at “UFC on Versus 5” this past August.
Although the organization has yet to confirm which Las Vegas, Nevada location will host the February 4th event, the Mandalay Bay Events Center is the current frontrunner to win the bid.
A welterweight title tilt between champion Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz is slated to headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
Here is the card’s updated roster:
Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres vs. Edwin Figueroa
Erik Koch vs. Dustin Poirer
Carlos Condit vs. Josh Koscheck
Nick Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre (UFC Welterweight Champion)
