Bellator Michael Chandler Eddie Alvarez

Little did MMA fanboys know at the time, but they were going to be treated to some of the best mixed martial arts action they had witnessed in quite some time on Saturday. Most already know about the instant classic the went down between Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 139, but the freebie fight Bellator hosted featuring Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler was just as spectacular.

If you were paying close enough attention, the stars aligned perfectly last night. Because UFC 139’s bouts on Spike TV ended so quickly, there left a long gap before the first scrap on the pay-per-view broadcast began. This allowed fans to switch over and watch the entire lightweight championship affair on MTV2.

Just in case you missed the thriller Alvarez and Chandler put on, Bellator has released the complete fight video for your viewing pleasure.

“Bellator 58″ took place inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
