Affliction has announced Michael D. Cohen as the COO of Affliction Entertainment. Cohen serves as Donald Trump’s Executive Vice President & Special Counsel, but will now look to push Affliction into the mainstream world to compete with the UFC. He was confident about “Affliction: Banned” saying, “our upcoming pay-per-view show will be the greatest MMA night ever.” Affliction also announced all of their events for their July 19th debut.

For many companies, the Chief Operating Officer is generally the person who goes out and just gets the job done so to say. For Affliction Entertainment, it would be a good assumption to say that Cohen will handle most of the business side of the company as his experience in MMA is limited to being a fan.

Roy Englebrecht Events will handle the promotional side for Affliction’s first foray into the MMA world. Englebrecht is mainly known for his “Battle in the Ballroom” promotion, which features both Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing fights.

Affliction’s debut promotion will start off with a free one hour LIVE telecast. “Affliction Live” will be airing at 8PM EST on your local Fox Sports Net station and will feature two bouts:

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Vernon “Tiger” White
Paul Buentello vs. Aleksander Emelianenko

Immediately following this telecast at 9PM EST will be “Affliction Banned,” which is available only on PPV. The star-studded card is headlined by consensus top ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko vs. former two time UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia. The PPV will also feature the following bouts:

Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead
Ben Rothwell vs. Andrei Arlovski
Fabio Negao vs. Matt Lindland
Pedro Rizzo vs. Josh Barnett

In addition to these fights, the lucky fans that actually attend the event will be treated to the following Swing Bouts, which most likely won’t be seen on television:

Savant Young vs. Mark Hominick
J.J. Ambrose vs. Mike Pyle
Patrick Speight vs. Justin Levens
Terry Martin vs. Vetor Belfort
