Gamblers Took Advantage Of Inside Information Against Chris Leben

Reports are surfacing that UFC middleweight Chris Leben “barely trained” at all for his fight at UFC 102 against Jake Rosholt according to a “prominent fighter.” That was enough for gamblers to wager on the underdog Rosholt when Leben opened as a 2-to-1 favorite.

Various sportsbooks had Leben as low as even money by the time the fight started. Leben eventually lost via submission to Rosholt in the 3rdRound.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Leben had “slipped” a few times during his 9 month suspension after his positive test for performance enhancing drugs.

It’s no secret that Leben has been battling his own personal demons since even before he ever stepped foot into the Octagon. His recent bout with alcoholism could mark the end of his UFC run.

No matter how popular of a fighter Leben is, we all know how serious Dana White is as well. If Leben didn’t take the fight seriously and started drinking instead of training, then he really could be cut from the UFC.

Kevin Iole from Yahoo! Sports recently went on the record saying, “UFC is dropping fighters on the margins, I think he’s done.”
