“UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida” took place Saturday night inside the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.

Frank Mir made a big statement by rallying to snap Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s right arm with a kimura. With the vicious win, Mir served notice to the rest of the heavyweight division that he’s prepared to make another run at the hardware.

Although Lyoto Machida was able to confuse Jones early on with his elusive ways, it wasn’t enough as Jones eventually put the Brazilian to bed with a standing guillotine choke. The win marked Jones’ fourth of the year and third of the championship variety.

Post-Fight Press Conference Notes:

UFC president Dana White reported there were 18,303 fans inside the arena, garnering the company $3.9 million at the gate.

Jones said he got a boost when he saw Machida bleeding.

Mir had a good feeling that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira wasn’t going to tap.

White shot down the rumor that Alistair Overeem was out of his UFC 141 fight against Brock Lesnar.

Jones is glad he got to show that he can take a punch.

White stated Jones is the real deal. He doesn’t see anyone beating him in the near future.

White believes Jones can be the best mixed martial artist ever.

Machida said the cut above his eye affected his vision and he felt it was the beginning of the end.

White wasn’t willing to answer whether Tito Ortiz would be back. It’s good that he wasn’t knocked unconscious, though.

Mir said that if Overeem is out, he would be more than happy to step in, especially since Saturday’s fight only lasted three minutes.

Jones would like to take four-five months off. White interrupted and said four.

White officially announced the flyweight division. Ian McCall vs. Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez vs. Yasuhiro Urushitani will meet on March 3rd. Winners will fight for 125 pound title at a later date.

White doesn’t see a Jones fight with Anderson Silva happening anytime soon. He reiterates that Silva is 37 years old.
