Eleven fights have been officially announced for “UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes” thus far, including the five scraps that will appear live in the pay-per-view portion of the festivities.
With still over a month remaining until the curtain is drawn on the UFC’s return trip to Brazil, it’s possible the organization will announce a twelfth bout to the lineup.
Featherweight champ Jose Aldo defends his throne against Chad Mendes in the night’s featured attraction. A middleweight shootout with Vitor Belfort and Anthony Johnson will serve as the co-main event.
Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena will host the January 14th fiesta. The same venue held UFC 134 this past August, which was the Octagon’s first Brazilian show in nearly 13 years.
The PPV broadcast airs live in the United States at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
