M1 Global Strikeforce Heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko

M-1 Global has announced their meal ticket, Fedor Emelianenko (Pictured), will make his long-awaited return to the Orient to face Satoshi Ishii at “Dream: Fight for Japan. How are you! New Year! 2011″ on December 31st.

“M-1 Global, in cooperation with Dream, is very pleased to announce the bout which will bring the world’s attention to Japan on December 31st,” said M-1 Global director of operations Evgeni Kogan. “Fedor has been in great shape and is ready for what we think will be a hard and competitive fight.”

Emelianenko snapped his three-fight losing skid last month by posting an uneventful unanimous decision victory over Jeff Monson. Although “The Last Emperor” had difficulties collecting wins in America under Strikeforce’s banner, the heavyweight made his claim to MMA fame for his vast accomplishments in Japan’s PrideFC in the early-mid 2000’s.

Ishii fought Paulo Filho to a highly controversial draw at “Amazon Forest Combat 1” in September. The judo practitioner, who works out of the famed Reign Training Center, took home gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan will host the festivities. HDNet will broadcast the extravaganza live in the United States starting at 1AM ET/10PM PT.
