Look who has been allowed back into the welterweight division. On Tuesday, Matt Brown (pictured) announced on his podcast that he will welcome Kelvin Gastelum back to the 170-pound class.

The event will take place November 21 at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

After missing weight on two separate occasions, UFC honchos told Gastelum that he needed to move up to middleweight. “the Ultimate Fighter 17″ winner did so successfully by TKO’ing Nate Marquardt in June. Gastelum has admitted he’s an average middleweight, but could contend for the title at welterweight.

Brown, meanwhile, snapped his two-fight skid with last month’s submission over Tim Means. “The Immortal” has won eight of his past 10 bouts.

Fox Sports 1 is expected to air the main card live in America.

No other bouts have been reported for the lineup at this time.

Rousimar Palhares Stripped Of WSOF Title For Dirty Playhttp://www.5thRound.com/186914/rousimar-palhares-stripped-of-wsof-title-for-dirty-play/ http://www.5thRound.com/186914/rousimar-palhares-stripped-of-wsof-title-for-dirty-play/#comments Tue, 04 Aug 2015 17:22:40 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186914 WSOF Rousimar Palhares

Rousimar Palhares (pictured) is MMA’s best submission assassin this side of Ronda Rousey. The controversial welterweight is also the dirtiest.

On Tuesday, World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo announced on “The MMA Hour” that the promotion has decided to strip Palhares of his title following Saturday’s submission victory over bitter rival Jake Shields.

Palhares was also issued an indefinite suspension.

After Palhares caught Shields in a kimura in the third round of their title tilt, Shields repeatedly tapped Palhares’ butt at least five times to surrender. Palhares finally stopped cranking when referee Steve Mazzagatti slapped him on his back six times with both hands and yelled at him to stop.

Shields was so irate of Palhares’ unsportsmanlike play that he socked him in the face after the stoppage.

Oh, and that wasn’t Palhares’ only dirty trick of the fight. He was warned earlier in the contest for eye-gouging Shields on two separate occasions.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Palhares has been at the center of dirty behavior. The UFC banned Palhares in 2013 after holding onto a heel hook too long after Mike Pierce submitted. The Brazilian was also suspended 90 days in 2010 for the same act on Tomasz Drwal.

Palhares continues to cry innocence after each controversial stoppage. Either he is lying to himself or has lied about it so much that he actually believes it.

Regardless, no bling-bling belt for you.

No word on what WSOF intends to do with the now-vacant welterweight belt.

The Nevada Athletic Commission, who sanctioned the event inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, can still punish Palhares and Shields (post-fight punch) for their conduct.

Nate Diaz Brags About Slapping ‘Nigg*’ Khabib Nurmagomedov (Video)http://www.5thRound.com/186909/nate-diaz-brags-about-slapping-nigg-khabib-nurmagomedov-video/ http://www.5thRound.com/186909/nate-diaz-brags-about-slapping-nigg-khabib-nurmagomedov-video/#comments Mon, 03 Aug 2015 17:53:33 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186909 UFC Nate Diaz

UFC lightweight Nate Diaz (pictured) has dropped the N-bomb on camera. Do you think he’s going to come under the same fire as Hulk Hogan?

Diaz will probably get a pass since he ended his N-word with an “a” instead of “er.” Diaz went gangster with his N-word, while Hogan went racist with his.

Anyways, a video has surfaced online of Diaz boasting about slapping Khabib Nurmagomedov this past Saturday in the stands at WSOF 22.

“Hey, f**k that nigg* Khabib,” Diaz stated. “He a bitch, he got slapped. Blam! Open-hand slap. Blam! Bitch ass nigg* goof. Nothin’.”

When the video of Saturday’s brawl initially surfaced, it didn’t capture any physical contact between Diaz, his brother, Nick, and Nurmagomedov. It did get Nick throwing a drink at Nurmagomedov, though.

However, there were reports that things got physical before the camera started rolling. According to Nate, it appears contact was made outside of the flying drink.

Nurmagomedov took the professional route when addressing the rumble.

“Last night I was confronted by 2 thugs. I’m a professional mixed martial artist. I’m not a street fighter,” Nurmagomedov posted Sunday on Twitter.

Ronda Rousey Stars As Herself In ‘My Fight/Your Fight’ Moviehttp://www.5thRound.com/186903/ronda-rousey-stars-as-herself-in-my-fightyour-fight-movie/ http://www.5thRound.com/186903/ronda-rousey-stars-as-herself-in-my-fightyour-fight-movie/#comments Mon, 03 Aug 2015 17:27:55 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186903 UFC Ronda Rousey

Reigning UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (pictured) has just secured another movie role, and it will be the easiest part she’s ever had to play.

According to Variety.com, Paramount Pictures has secured the rights to Rousey’s New York Times best-selling autobiography “My Fight/Your Fight.” Rousey will play herself.

The book was published his past spring and was written by Rousey and her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz.

No word on when production will begin filming. Rousey is expected to defend her title one more time before year’s end, then begin shooting “Mile 22,″ her first starring role, in January.

Rousey has had roles in “The Expendables 3,” “Furious 7″ and most recently “Entourage.”

Rousey is two days removed from posting a knockout victory over Bethe Correia at UFC 190. She is dominating inside the cage and appears well on her way to taking over Hollywood.

Ronda Rousey And Dana White Send Stern Message To Cris ‘Cyborg’http://www.5thRound.com/186880/ronda-rousey-and-dana-white-send-stern-message-to-cris-cybrg/ http://www.5thRound.com/186880/ronda-rousey-and-dana-white-send-stern-message-to-cris-cybrg/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2015 14:34:44 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186880 Cris Cyborg Justino UFC STrikeforceInvicta

What is 10 pounds? To some Americans, it’s the difference between their year-round weight and what they need to lose in order to be beach-ready.

For Cris “Cyborg” Justino (pictured), it’s what she needs to shed in order to make the biggest fight in MMA history a reality. Once the reigning Invicta FC featherweight champion can prove she’s able to do that successfully, UFC president Dana White and reigning UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey are ready to turn fantasy into fact.

“She didn’t make the weight yet,” White said of Justino on Saturday’s UFC 190 post-fight show. “The day she makes the weight and does what she’s supposed to do, that fight’s on. She wants … everybody … you think I don’t want that fight to happen? Now I’m changing my mind on that fight. I think that fight does 2.5 million [pay-per-view] buys. I think that fight is massive.

“She needs to go out, she needs to compete at [135 pounds] and she can come right here and fight Ronda.”

Rousey, who was just minutes removed from easily bumping her professional resume to a perfect 12-0 with a 34 second knockout of Bethe Correia, claimed she’s more than ready to share the cage with Justino – with a few simple stipulations, of course.

“I prefer who makes weight and doesn’t do drugs,” Rousey said of potential opponents, while alluding to Justino. “The fight’s there for Cyborg. She can make 145 pumped full of steroids, [then] she can move down without them.

“I’m not going anywhere. I don’t see why everyone acts like I have so much to prove when she has to prove she can actually fight legitimately.”

Many have long wondered if the overly-buff Justino has been taking performance-enhancing drugs her entire career. The chiseled 30-year-old has flunked only one drug test (stanozolol in 2011) through 16 pro outings. Of course, Rousey hasn’t let her or the MMA world forget it.

So, the ball’s in Justino’s court. She better hurry up and put the fork down because Rousey is only getting better, which is a scary thought considering “Rowdy’s” last four opponents have lasted a combined 130 seconds against her.

What Did Ronda Rousey Say To Unconscious Bethe Correia At UFC 190?http://www.5thRound.com/186893/what-did-ronda-rousey-say-to-unconscious-bethe-correia-at-ufc-190/ http://www.5thRound.com/186893/what-did-ronda-rousey-say-to-unconscious-bethe-correia-at-ufc-190/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2015 14:32:58 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186893 UFC Ronda Rousey

There’s no crying in MMA. Reigning UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (pictured) didn’t make up that line, she merely repeated it.

After taking a whole 34 seconds to knock out Bethe Correia Saturday at UFC 190, Rousey circled back to an unconscious and face-planted Correia to echo the same two words Correia was incessantly yelling in her face the day prior.

“I said the exact same thing she was saying to me at weigh-ins – she was screaming in my face at weigh-ins, she was saying, ‘Don’t cry.’ So, I turned around after I knocked her out and said, ‘Don’t cry,’” Rousey shared at the UFC 190’s post-fight press conference.

There was plenty of bad blood between the two entering Saturday’s scrap. Outside of previously taking down two of her “Four Horsewomen,” Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler, Correia touched a nerve when she said she hoped Rousey wouldn’t “kill herself” after she knocked Rousey off her pedestal.

Rousey’s father committed suicide when she was just eight because he was suffering from severe back pain after a sledding accident.

After Correia issued an apology that fell on deaf ears, Rousey promised she would make Correia pay for her words. “Rowdy” claimed she wouldn’t finish Correia off quickly, but prolong the assault to make her archenemy suffer for her irresponsible remark.

And the “Rowdy” one did just that, waxing Correia off in 34 seconds – 20 whopping ticks longer than what it took Rousey to submit Cat Zingano in her last outing and 18 more Mississippis than it took Rousey to KO Alexis Davis the fight before that.

Rousey, a true woman of her word.

UFC 190: Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia (Video Highlights)http://www.5thRound.com/186828/ufc-190-ronda-rousey-vs-bethe-correia-video-highlights/ http://www.5thRound.com/186828/ufc-190-ronda-rousey-vs-bethe-correia-video-highlights/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2015 07:04:26 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186828 UFC Ronda Rousey

Bethe Correia seemed to have all the confidence in the world entering Saturday’s title tilt against reigning UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (pictured). Just 34 seconds into their scrap, Correia was unconscious on the canvas in face plant fashion.

Rousey, meanwhile, is a liar. She said she wasn’t going to end things quickly because she wanted to make Correia pay for her previous comments on suicide. Well, maybe she was telling the truth because she allowed Correia to last 20 and 18 seconds longer than her last two respective opponents.

Rousey is now a perfect 12-0 and will most likely make it a baker’s dozen after she steamrolls Miesha Tate for a third time.

UFC 190 took place inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dan Henderson vs. Vitor Belfort 3 Headlines UFC Fight Night In Brazilhttp://www.5thRound.com/186870/dan-henderson-vs-vitor-belfort-3-headlines-ufc-fight-night-in-brazil/ http://www.5thRound.com/186870/dan-henderson-vs-vitor-belfort-3-headlines-ufc-fight-night-in-brazil/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:50:21 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186870 UFC Dan Henderson

Sorry, Michael Bisping. It looks like Vitor Belfort will fight Dan Henderson (pictured) a third time instead of granting you a rematch.

On Saturday night, Henderson tried to steal Ronda Rousey’s thunder by announcing on Twitter that he’s facing Belfort on November 7.

The event is expected to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This is a true rubber match, with Henderson taking a unanimous decision win back in 2006 at Pride 32 and Belfort knotting up the score with a highlight reel head kick KO in 2013.

Henderson collected a much needed victory by knocking out Tim Boetsch in June to snap his two-fight losing skid. Henderson has dropped five of his last seven bouts.

Belfort, meanwhile, is looking to bounce back from May’s title loss to reigning middleweight champion Chris Weidman. “The Phenom” had won three straight prior to facing Weidman.

Fox Sports 1 will likely broadcast the main card.

No other bouts have been reported for the lineup.

Nick Diaz Throws Drink At Khabib Nurmagomedov, Brawl Ensues At WSOF 22 (Video)http://www.5thRound.com/186853/nick-diaz-throws-drink-at-khabib-nurmagomedov-brawl-ensues-at-wsof-22-video/ http://www.5thRound.com/186853/nick-diaz-throws-drink-at-khabib-nurmagomedov-brawl-ensues-at-wsof-22-video/#comments Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:21:54 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=186853 UFC Nick Diaz

Just Diaz brothers being Diaz brothers…

Seconds before buddy Jake Shields was to challenge World Series of Fighting welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares for his title at WSOF 22, Nick (pictured) and Nate Diaz got into a scuffle with fellow UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The video shows Nick throwing a drink at Nurmagomedov as they were being separated. According to MMAFighting.com reporter Shaheen Al-Shatti, punches may have been thrown by both fighters before the camera started rolling.

All I can say is, let’s just hope Nick didn’t throw a beer because that is just wasteful…

As far as the most important fight at WSOF 22 that will likely get no attention thanks to this rumble, Palhares resumed his dirty ways by continuing to crank on a kimura well after Shields tapped.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada was the scene of the crime.
