Anytime, any where, any place. And that’s why UFC president Dana White loves him some Ronda Rousey (pictured).

On Friday night’s edition of ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” White phoned in to announce Rousey will now defend her throne against Holly Holm on November 14 instead of January 2 after welterweight champion Robbie Lawler suffered a thumb injury that forced him out of UFC 193.

UFC 193 goes down inside Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, which holds 56,000 fans at capacity. Given Rousey’s star power, it was an easy choice to pick the “Rowdy” one as Lawler’s replacement.

“Ronda Rousey will fight Holly Holm November 14,” White stated. “She is the main event at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia and she will break the all-time attendance record for the sport of mixed martial arts. Obviously, Ronda Rousey was huge for us down in Brazil. She was well received there, it was just a phenomenal event. It did very well on pay-per-view here in the United States and she’s obviously a huge star for us.”

Lawler was slated to defend his throne against former interim champ Carlos Condit. No word on what the UFC now intends to do with Condit.

UFC 195 takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk was slated to co-headline the gig against Claudia Gadelha.

It is unknown if the 115-pounders will now get top billing or if the UFC will look to give someone else the main marquee.

Here is UFC 193’s updated lineup:

Anthony Perosh vs. Gian Villante

Steve Kennedy vs. Richard Walsh

Kyle Noke vs. Peter Sobotta

Ricardo Abreu vs. Daniel Kelly

Akbarh Arreola vs. Jake Matthews

Stefan Struve vs. Jared Rosholt

Michael Bisping vs. Robert Whittaker

Mark Hunt vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva

Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey (UFC bantamweight champion)

Travis Browne Reinstated By UFC After ‘Inconclusive’ Findings Of Domestic Violencehttp://www.5thRound.com/187744/travis-browne-reinstated-by-ufc-after-inconclusive-findings-of-domestic-violence/ http://www.5thRound.com/187744/travis-browne-reinstated-by-ufc-after-inconclusive-findings-of-domestic-violence/#comments Sat, 29 Aug 2015 02:08:09 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=187744 UFC Travis Browne

Travis Browne’s wife is a liar – at least an inconclusive liar after a former FBI agent of 25 years looked into domestic violence accusations involving the heavyweight.

“UFC announced today that an investigation into allegations of domestic violence against heavyweight Travis Browne is now complete,” the UFC expressed in Friday’s statement. “Conducted by a former FBI agent with more than 25 years of experience, the seven-week investigation included interviews with multiple subjects associated with the principals, as well as the principals themselves. The investigation found inconclusive evidence to support claims of alleged domestic violence involving Browne, and inconclusive evidence that Browne had violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy.

“As a result, UFC has lifted Browne’s temporary suspension and anticipates him returning to competition in the coming months. UFC takes allegations of domestic violence very seriously, and they will be investigated for their validity. If proven true with facts, it will result in swift action on our part.”

In July, Jenna Reneé Webb, who at the time was believed to be Browne’s ex-girlfriend but may actually be his wife, posted damaging pictures on Instagram insinuating he had abused her.

Browne has been radio silent since the post, but his camp has cried innocence o his behalf from the jump.

Browne, currently the UFC’s #5 heavyweight, was scheduled to appear during UFC International Fight Week in July, but was pulled at the last minute after Webb’s accusations.

“Hapa” was last seen getting TKO’d by Andrei Arlovski at UFC 187 in May.

Brendan Schaub Turning Into Ronda Rousey’s Bitter Ex-Boyfriendhttp://www.5thRound.com/187710/brendan-schaub-turning-into-ronda-rouseys-bitter-ex-boyfriend/ http://www.5thRound.com/187710/brendan-schaub-turning-into-ronda-rouseys-bitter-ex-boyfriend/#comments Fri, 28 Aug 2015 16:14:30 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=187710 UFC Brendan Schaub

Ronda Rousey and fellow UFC star Brendan Schaub (pictured) have each taken the high road since their breakup. However, with recent comments made on two separate podcasts, it appears Schaub is now taking MMA fans down a different path – not necessarily the low road, but down bitter ex-boyfriend boulevard.

Earlier this month, Schaub was on “The Joe Rogan Experience” and said he “did her a favor” by no longer being Rousey’s main squeeze. The heavyweight claimed Rousey needs a man who will “take a backseat” and say yes to everything she wants because she’s already surrounded herself with people who “worship her and go ‘yes, yes, that’s a great idea.'”

Schaub admitted he wasn’t the man for the job, because he is too much of a man.

Rogan quickly shut the conversation down because Rousey wasn’t there to “defend herself.”

Well, Schaub started the Rousey conversation right back up on his own podcast, “The Fighter and The Kid.” Only this time, Schaub decided to put Rousey’s rumored new boyfriend, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, on blast, as well.

“It’s tough when you’re like, ‘Oh, don’t be a do-nothing bitch’ and you hate on [Floyd] Mayweather, and then your boyfriend’s over here beating the s**t out of his wife. Not to mention, he’s still married. So it’s tough when you’re a role model,” Schaub stated.

The UFC currently has Browne sitting in the bullpen after Jenna Reneé Webb, who was first reported to be Browne’s ex-girlfriend but apparently appears to actually be his wife, accused him of domestic violence with several damaging pictures on Instagram.

The UFC won’t make a decision on Browne until the incident is “thoroughly reviewed and thoroughly investigated by an independent party.”

Rousey has made no bones about her despise for Floyd Mayweather and his propensity for beating the women in his life. Rousey’s latest jab came after she topped the boxer for this year’s “Best Fighter” ESPY by saying, “I can’t help but really say that, I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once.”

If Browne did in fact assault his wife, it would be highly hypocritical of Rousey to be dating her Glendale Fighting Club teammate. Regardless, it’s tough for Schaub to come out looking clean when he’s airing his ex-girl’s dirty laundry.

It might be best for “Big Brown” to keep his big mouth shut on all things Ronda Rousey. Anything negative Schaub says about the UFC’s golden girl, he now becomes “that guy” given their history, and nobody wants that label.

On the flipside, if this were Jerry Springer, how great would a Schaub vs. Browne rematch be? I can see the headline now, “Love Triangle To Be Settled In The Octagon.”

Your move, Dana White…

On Thursday, a heavyweight affair between Stefan Struve (pictured) and Jared Rosholt was announced for UFC 193.

Struve collected a much-needed win by taking a unanimous decision victory over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in August. “Skycraper” had dropped two straight prior to August’s outing.

Rosholt has won nine of his past 10 bouts, including two consecutive. “The Big Show” was last seen posting a decision over Timothy Johnson in August.

The November 14 event goes down inside Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

UFC Fighter Jordan Mein Retires At 25http://www.5thRound.com/187698/ufc-fighter-jordan-mein-retires-at-25/ http://www.5thRound.com/187698/ufc-fighter-jordan-mein-retires-at-25/#comments Thu, 27 Aug 2015 00:51:46 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=187698 UFC Jordan Mein

Jordan Mein (pictured) has become the second UFC fighter to retire within the last four days. Much like Frankie Perez, who is just 26, Mein hangs up his MMA gloves at 25, well before the prime of his career.

Mein’s retirement was announced on this week’s edition of “UFC Tonight.”

Mein started his mixed martial arts career at the age of 16. After notching 39 professional fights under his belt, he merely felt burnt out and decided to call it quits.

The talented welterweight owns a 29-10 record, winning three of his five fights in the UFC. “Young Gun” was last seen getting knocked out by Thiago Alves in January.

Michael Bisping probably thinks Mein doesn’t have the “cajones” to continue fighting…

Ronda Rousey Claims To Make More Money Than Floyd Mayweather … Per Secondhttp://www.5thRound.com/187689/ronda-rousey-claims-to-make-more-money-than-floyd-mayweather-per-second/ http://www.5thRound.com/187689/ronda-rousey-claims-to-make-more-money-than-floyd-mayweather-per-second/#comments Wed, 26 Aug 2015 16:35:58 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=187689 Ronda Rousey UFC

According to Forbes.com, at $300 million, Floyd “Money” Mayweather made more than 46 times more money than Ronda Rousey (pictured) did between June 2014 to June 2015.

While Rousey brought in a measly $6.5 million during that same span, making her the eighth-highest paid female athlete in the world, the reigning UFC bantamweight champion still managed to find a way to take a dig at Mayweather.

“I don’t know if you saw the Floyd thing, he said, “If you make $300 million a night, then you can give me a call.’ I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest-paid UFC fighter and I’m a woman,” Rousey told TMZ Sports. “I think I actually make two or three times more than he does per second.

“So, when he learns to read and write, he can text me.”

It’s unclear if Rousey was taking a dig at Mayweather for being dyslexic, but it certainly appears that way. Otherwise, Rousey would have said for Mayweather to “call me” (like Mayweather said) instead of “text me.”

It is crystal clear, however, that Rousey is dogging Mayweather for being combat sports’ ho-hum decision king. Rousey’s last four opponents, meanwhile, have lasted a COMBINED 130 seconds against her.

Rousey countered with a solid shot, but I’d still rather have Mayweather’s bank account. The guy just bought a $4.8 million CAR…

Max Holloway wants Frankie Edgar (pictured) next, and Edgar was more than willing to oblige. Unfortunately for both featherweights, the UFC has other plans.

Lancenet.com.br reported Tuesday, which was subsequently confirmed by multiple outlets, that Edgar will headline “The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale” opposite Chad Mendes.

“The Answer” was hoping to get a title tilt after beating Urijah Faber in May, but the UFC didn’t provide the answer the former lightweight champion was hoping for. Edgar will be riding a four-fight winning streak into the tango.

Mendes is looking to bounce back from July’s TKO defeat to Conor McGregor for the vacant interim featherweight crown. “Money” accepted the bout on last-minute’s notice and it showed, as he gassed before getting blasted in the second round.

The December 11 event will take place at a yet-to-be announced venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fox Sports 1 is expected to air the main card live.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos (pictured) and Alistair Overeem can finally stop bickering on Twitter, because they will have the chance to settle their long-running beef in real life on December 19.

On Tuesday, the UFC announced the heavyweight shootout will co-headline UFC on FOX 17.

This bout was initially supposed to go down three years ago, but Overeem flunked his UFC 146 pre-fight drug test for testosterone and wasn’t allowed to challenge then-champ dos Santos for this throne.

Dos Santos hasn’t been seen since taking a controversial unanimous decision over Stipe Miocic in December. “Cigano” was hoping his next outing would be against champ Fabricio Werdum, but the UFC recently announced Cain Velasquez would be granted an immediate chance to reclaim his throne.

With nowhere left to turn, dos Santos had to settle for settling his differences with his longtime rival.

Overeem, meanwhile, has won three of his last four scraps, including two straight. “The Demolition Man” most recently took a decision over Roy Nelson in March.

Amway Center in Orlando, Florida hosts the festivities.

FOX will broadcast the main card live starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.

Here is the show’s current roster:

Tamdan McCrory vs. Josh Samman

C.B. Dollaway vs. Nate Marquardt

Nate Diaz vs. Michael Johnson

Alistair Overeem vs. Junior dos Santos

Donald Cerrone vs. Rafael Dos Anjos (UFC lightweight champion)

Erick Silva Blames Injury For Flabby Body And Bad Performancehttp://www.5thRound.com/187656/erick-silva-blames-injury-for-flabby-body-and-bad-performance/ http://www.5thRound.com/187656/erick-silva-blames-injury-for-flabby-body-and-bad-performance/#comments Tue, 25 Aug 2015 16:24:28 +0000 http://www.5thRound.com/?p=187656 UFC Erick Silva

Erick Silva (pictured) didn’t look good in Sunday’s split decision defeat to Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night 74 – not just his performance, but his appearance.

Every athlete has a bad night, but Silva’s flabbier physique is what caught the attention of many in the MMA community. Some couldn’t help but take to Twitter to wonder aloud if the UFC’s new, stricter drug testing policy that kicked in on July 1 played a role in the welterweight’s new body:

Charlie Brenneman @SpaniardMMA – Dang Silva lookin soft in this one.

Derek Brunson @DerekBrunson – Erick Silva went from Mr. Baywatch to Dad bod ?? #UFCSaskatoon

Kenny Florian @kennyflorian – Silva definitely looks very different physically. Looking sloppy with his technique tonight as well. #UFCSaskatoon

Truck Gordon @TruckMMA_UFC – Someone is off the sauce #justsaying

David Michaud @bulldawgUFC – It’s weird seeing how different some guys bodies have been looking since their last fights

Well, it appears we weren’t the only ones to notice the change in Silva’s appearance. Silva took to Instagram to explain that a pre-fight injury is what prevented him from looking his best – physically and in the fight.

“About the fight: Honestly, I did not like my performance, and was overcome, I was embarrassed by my performance, my body, I know that I am much more than that Erick who presented yesterday, my main mistake was insisting on fighting, and put only my ‘head’ in play as my coaches and my doctors did their best as much as possible so that I at least was in the fight,” Silva wrote in Portuguese (translated by Google). “Was not a good month for me, more so nobody else wants to know and is not nobody else’s problem, I made a ridiculous performance and deserved to lose, I paid the price for it.

“So I can only affirm and ensure that the next time I set foot in that Octagon again will be 100% physically uninjured, and with the full training period, otherwise do like everyone does, cancel the fight. I also want to thanks all who are with me in defeat and in victory, make sure that the amount whose support is greater than he who lays down.”

Silva was nearly a 2-1 odds-on favorite to beat Magny, who stepped in on just 11 days’ notice to co-headline the show.

Silva has never flunked a drug test in 25 professional outings. Only three of his fights have taken place outside of his homeland of Brazil, including Sunday’s bout in Canada.
