Please! If he really wanted to fight the best WWs in the world, he should have signed with the UFC when he was a free agent a couple years ago. Now that he knows he can't fight them, he calls them out? Give me a break. GSP would kill him and Fitch is a better version of him. I think Alves and Hughes would take him.

I really see him on Alves' level, a little better than Diego and Swick.

I agree, he would get killed by GSP. I think that he is in Fitch's and Alves' league though. I think Shields is better than Diego, Swick and Hughes.

It's hard to tell since he hasn't fought top flight competition for so long.

Certainly, he can't handle GSP, and he feels safe calling out people he knows he can't fight. Pretty weak!

It seems counterproductive to have EliteXC fighters calling out UFC. It only draws attention to the UFC. They are basically saying, "There is nobody good to fight in this crappy federation, so I have to call out those in the UFC." Dana White is not going to bite the bullet and work with another company for the ever anticipated St. Pierre vs. Shileds fight. So what exactly is Shields' point in calling him out?

Exactly. He had his chance and turned away from teh challenges of the UFC. He can keep fighters lesser fighters and imagine what could have been, while GSP continues to beat on the best of the best

Shields is a solid fighter. I don't know why he isn't getting the love here. He went to Elite because it was a better deal. Not too many fighters like how they UFC treats them. It's now up to Elite to find better WWs
